About the Brand

In 2012, Jordann started a 30-day Paleo challenge that changed her life. While her sleepless nights and fatigue disappeared, it didn’t stop her sweet tooth. She loves a good chocolate-y snack, but when practicing Paleo, it’s hard to find something to satisfy that craving.

That’s why Jordann took matters into her own hands and created her very own Paleo, gluten-free, dairy-free snacks with Base Culture. She uses passion, insight, and intuition to cultivate a mix of healthy, crunchy, salty, and sweet snacks for mid-morning, afternoon, and pre-dinner needs that love your body back. She sourced the best ingredients, free of preservatives or artificial sweeteners.

FAQ

How do their products need to be stored?
  • Base Culture suggests that their Sandwich Breads and Sweet Breads be stored in the freezer to ensure the longest shelf life of 9 months, or they can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Their Brownies are a bit of a different story. They last 9 months in the freezer and can be stored in the refrigerator for 2 months. Their Almond Butters can be stored at room temperature for 9 months or in the refrigerator for a year!
Are your products Non-GMO?
  • Yes, all of their products are Non-GMO certified through the BioChecked process, a leading third party certification program with expertise in areas including Non-GMO ingredients.
Where are their products made?
  • They make all of their products in their own manufacturing plant located in Clearwater, Florida, and they have a SQF level 2 certified facility. They are certified paleo, gluten free, grain free and are women owned.
What does it mean to be certified Paleo?
  • The paleo diet is a nutritional approach that focuses on eating only foods that are nourishing and unprocessed. It is rooted in foods that were available and eaten by people in paleolithic times, and excludes dairy, grains and legumes. Base Culture's products are Certified Paleo, the Paleo Foundation’s most popular and highest level certification for Paleo compliant products. Certified Paleo products are clean products that contain Paleo ingredients, but may also have some 21st century processing or packaging methods that help ensure quality and improve shelf stability.
How is grain free different than gluten free?
  • Their products are both gluten free and grain free, as grain free foods are excluded from a Paleo diet. A grain free diet eliminates all grains even those that are gluten free, like corn, rice, oats, millet and sorghum.
Which of their products are considered keto?
  • The Keto diet is a very low-carb, high fat diet and involves significantly reducing carbohydrates across your daily food and beverage consumption. For snacks to be considered Keto, they must have 6g or less of net carbs (total carbs- fiber) per serving. Base Culture's Keto Bread, 7 Nut & Seed Bread, Original Almond Butter and Cinnamon Almond Butter are all considered KETO-friendly
