Our Story

I’ve struggled with weight my entire life. I was always the biggest kid growing up, not necessarily fat, but bigger than everyone else. My nickname was Moose, and later I became known as “Big Mike” and that’s just who I was. So it was natural that I had to be “Big”, it’s who I identified with, it’s who everyone identified me with.

I tried all kinds of diets and ways to lose weight but none of them ever worked long term, I’m a social person and being social usually included bad foods and sugary drinks. Plus, how can I be “Big Mike” and eat a salad? it simply didn’t fit into “who I was” Until… I found The Ketogenic lifestyle.

The Ketogenic Lifestyle Made Complete Sense For Me.

I can eat meat, bacon, butter, cheese, fish, Chicken Wings (Baked of course), Olive Oil, some nuts, Avocado, Cream, and it never felt like I was on a “diet” or depriving myself of certain foods. It was June, perfect timing for BBQ season so I decided to give it a shot. The first few days were a little rough but I stuck it out (thankfully). After about day 3 I started to feel amazing, I was sleeping better, my mood was better, my skin was clearer, I had more energy, my mind wasn’t foggy anymore and I started to feel lighter, I became obsessed. I started researching almost all the time, I came across guys like Drew Manning, (which by the way is a great program to start on, Dr. Jason Fung (The Obesity Code, great great book), Dr. Dominic D’Agostino (Mr.Keto), Dr. Jeff Volek, Dr. Stephen Phinney, Dr. Timothy Noakes, (great keto resource), Dr. Angela Poff, Dr. Andi, and so many more. I watched all the youtube videos, listened to podcasts and read their books, as I said, I was obsessed! I couldn’t stop talking about it, I was losing an average of 10lbs per month in the beginning, (so far I’m down 100 lbs) and I felt the best I’ve ever felt in my life ( I turned 40 and felt better than I did when I turned 20).

Fast Forward to The Keto Oven

I am a Real Estate Broker in Toronto, my Wife (Georgina) was staying at home with our first child (Isabella) and started playing around with some Keto pizza, Keto pasta recipes and Keto buns. (Pizza, Pasta and Bread were the 3 things we missed most). Since we both have a background in Food, (25 years owning and Managing Restaurants) and my Wife is an amazing Chef, we both couldn’t stop talking about Keto, we thought we would have some fun with it. We started letting our Friends and Family try her creations and everybody loved them, they kept asking for more. Then one day, a family friend who owns a bakery for the last 40 years asked us for the recipe. It was then when we looked at each other and knew we had something, Bam! The Keto Oven was born.

Now, You, Me, and everyone else living a Ketogenic lifestyle can have a Keto pizza, a delicious home cooked Keto friendly pasta, Keto Meal, Hamburger on a Keto Bun or even a fried egg and Bacon sandwich anytime you want it. No more having to go shopping for every individual ingredient, coming home and spending hours trying to create it. Whether it’s 2:00 pm or 2:00 am, just take a frozen pizza (or meal) out of your freezer and pop it in the oven for 10-12 Minutes. (You can also microwave our meals and enjoy the same great taste. Our foods are infused with MCT Oil, Apple Cider Vinegar, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Himalayan Pink Salts and have no added sugars or fillers and we use organic where possible.

There are lots of Keto snacks on the market, but no “Keto” ready to eat, ready made pizza, pasta and bread substitutes.
